Are Things Worse in America Than Ever Before?: © 2008.  Are things worse in America now than ever before? Barack Obama doesn’t think so. In his book, The Audacity of Hope (review coming soon) he comments that when he hears liberals complain because America is slipping dangerously toward fascism, and our Constitution is being shredded beyond all recognition, he reminds them of darker times our country has faced.

Candidates on Religion: © 2008. In 2006 Barack Obama gave a speech in Washington, DC on “the connection between religion and politics.” The video is here: Barack Obama on Faith. This is a response by Vivienne D’Avalon. It delves into the attitudes expressed by the other 3 candidates on this topic: Hillary Clinton, John McCain, and Mike Huckabee. While no one will be surprised at the Republican attitude, the reader might be surprised that Hillary shows all the hallmarks of a theocrat who may have given George W. his inspiration for the twisted, anti-Constitutional policies of his regime.

ACLU Panel Paper: © 2007. On March 7, 2007, Vivienne D’Avalon was the Wiccan panelist at an ACLU-sponsored forum on religious freedom at Embry Riddle University. These were her opening remarks.

The Patriots Spell Book: © 2006. This book is aimed at all magick users and energy workers, as well as to all Wiccans and Pagans. Written shortly before the November 2006 midterm elections. Take a look, and if you are interested, download it, use it, and forward it to whomever you think might also appreciate it, and post it wherever you think appropriate.

Applied Anthropology Paper Literature Review: © 2002. This is the first part of a paper Vivienne D’Avalon wrote for an Applied Anthropology class at Rollins College. The paper was about child custody issues in divorce cases where a parent’s Wiccan faith (or other minority beliefs) become an issue, contrary to the Constitutional principle of separation of church and state. This literature review section lists several legal cases and other reference documents that may be useful for people having difficutly with custody issues because of their religious faith (or lack thereof). It’s a rude awakening for the rest of us.
