Just some general Vivienne D’Avalon/Persephone’s Haven news:

The PH website (persephoneshaven.com) has its basic pages up again. Magus is working on getting the full ecommerce site up and running for me, but is planning on switching over the domain to a company he can work better with. In the meantime I’ve signed up as an Amazon associate to try to get some links up to all the many books I recommend. We are signed up as associates here at Crone Seraphim too, so we can provide you links to the books we discuss and recommend.

I will also be checking out Pay Pal for tools that will allow me to start putting up links to my merchandise at Persephone’s Haven’s My Space page, myspace.com/persephoneshaven, in whatever capacity that may be allowed. I will also make some available here, as appropriate. Feel free to join the Persephone’s Haven newsletter yahoo board as well: Yahoo Group Persephoneshaven.

Projects sponsored by Persephone’s Haven:

I’ve founded a Sanford, FL Meet Up for Vampires, both sanguine and psychic; vampiric otherkin; donors; and members of the Shadowlore Board. The next Meet Up is Friday, March 7. See Vampires Meetup for more information.

The core Vampire Meet Up group is in the planning stages for a Vampire Symposium we hope to hold in 2009. We are currently putting the legal entity paperwork together and as soon as that’s done we will be putting out a call for volunteers. There is a huge amount of work that needs to be done to make this happen and we will need lots of dedicated, skilled, and hardworking individuals to make this event a truly stupendous educational experience, so if you think you might be interested in helping in any capacity, please contact me at Vivienne_davalon@yahoo.com.

The circle casting clinic that I will be co-teaching with Kim Wade has been postponed until April. The site we will be teaching at is moving from its current location, at the end of February, to a new site a few blocks away, and not opening until the second week in March; so we’ve opted to wait until the new location is settled for stability’s sake. (The vampire meetup will also be moving to the new location and is meeting one time only in Casselberry for March). The clinic will train people to take over from Kim as monthly moon circle facilitators and will be held on the first Sunday of each month from 1-3 pm.

The course on Theatrical Techniques for Ritual that I will be teaching will also start in April at the same new location in Sanford, immediately after the first Circle Casting workshop and every Sunday thereafter for 8 weeks, from 3:15-5:15.

The owner of that site has asked me to dance at the Grand Opening festivities for her new location. I don’t have the exact date yet, but she says the second week in March. Once I know for sure when, I will post here. My back went out last Sunday, however (Feb. 10), so though I am trying very hard to recover enough to perform I can make no guarantees. I will do my level best and hope to see some of you at the opening, whether I can perform or not. The owner is full of extremely creative, eclectic, and fun ideas for the venue and is inviting many artists of various types to come out before the opening to help decorate in their own unique ways. It will be a very Bohemian hang out and I’m looking forward to lots of great times there with all our different activities. If you think you will be in the Sanford area and want to stop in, send me a message and I will forward you her contact information and location.

The Thelema Meet Up my friend Sherri recently started is promising to be extremely interesting and educational. The next meet up is Sunday, Feb. 24 and will be discussing ideas in the introduction to “Magick in Theory and Practice” by Aleister Crowley. Check Thelema Meetup.com for details.

I am currently scheduled to receive my elekes (a Lucumi initiation) from Ocha’ni Lele at the end of May, and my Warriors (the second initiation) by the end of this year. I’m very excited about this next step in my education and spiritual path, and my padrino is a fabulous teacher.

I will be trying to make it to Dragon Con this year. I’ll post with updates when it gets close, in case any other attendees want to try to hook up with me and my fellow travelers.

In October Magus and I and several other members of the Orlando Harry Potter Club will be attending “Wrock the Boat,” a fan cruise leaving from New Orleans for the Caribbean.

Links to many of the people and events mentioned here, including Magus’ Wizard Rock band, “House of Black,” can be found in the Friends section of my My Space page: Myspace Viviennedavalon.
